Biking & Hiking – the Aska Trails system, Appalachian Trail, Benton MacKaye Trail, and Cohutta Wilderness Area. Call the U.S. Forest Service Toccoa Ranger District office at 706.632.3031 for more information on hiking and biking trails in the area.

Boating, Camping, Swimming – Lake Blue Ridge covers over 3,290 acres. There are over 100 miles of shoreline and over 90 National Forest campsites. Swimming beaches and picnic areas are available to enjoy. A full service marina provides pontoon boat and Jet Ski rentals. Call 706.632.2618 for more information.

Horseback Riding – Adventure Trail Rides is located near Indian Mountain Lodge off Hwy 2. Call 706.258.BARN or visit their web site at www.adventuretrailrides.com

Fishing –  To apply for a fishing license, call the Wildlife Resources Division at 770.414.3333, or Fisheries Management at 770.918.6418 for other questions. Additionally, the U.S. Forest Service's Southern Region Regional Office may be contacted at 404.347.4177.

Golfing – Cherokee Hills Golf & Country Club is located 30 miles north in Murphy, NC. Call 800.334.3905 for more information.

Blue Ridge Scenic Railway – visit the 100 year old depot in downtown Blue Ridge. The train stops in the twin border towns of McCaysville, GA and Copperhill, TN before returning to Blue Ridge. Call 800.934.1898 or visit www.brscenic.com  

Historic downtown shopping – stroll down Main Street and visit antique shops, art galleries, gift & specialty shops, furniture & cabin décor shops. Stop for a while and enjoy coffee, ice cream or lunch at one of the restaurants. www.blueridgega.com

Mercier Apple Orchard – since 1943…definitely not to be missed! You’ll pass it on your right as you head into town. They are open all year long (Mon-Sat, 8-6 and Sun, 10-6). Call 706.632.3411 or www.mercier-orchards.com for more information.
